if you ask me...

...it looks like SUMMER...
But alas, it's just a premonition of things to come...

...warm afternoon sun called me to come outside after school when I got home...

...so I sat in my green metal retro chair (this = HaPpInEsS) and read some educational philosophy and drank Arizona Diet Peach Tea...
...and admired our GREEN grass...just lovely...

...then coach sal comes home with FlOwErS for me and food for dinner...

...and then he grills! Yum-o! (In more ways than one)
Oh, summer...summer...wherefore art thou???

sweetest thing ever...

my sweet blog world friend Whitney wrote a post about ME. ME!

read here.

i think she nailed me. isn't it amazing how our words and pictures say so much about us?...

go check out her blog- here!

Ok, this is bad. I took no photos of David today on his birthday. He wouldn't let me.
So...I will contimue with Tuesday, April 7th. Not only did we get key lime pie at Costco, but I bought Mary E flowers...because she had a principal role in the lower school production of "The Nightingale"!
She was the little girl, and she was SO PERFECT! When she sang out her solos, and I heard her teeny tiny voice, I CRIED! She was just dainty and lovely and sweet. She never dropped a line, and she sang at the evening performance with a cough and runny nose. We were crazy-proud of her, as were her teachers and the other parents- everyone was amazed at her talent!
She was the only fourth grade student to have a lead role (the others were fifth graders). She said she didn't expect to get the part when she tried out- she tried out "for fun"!
Bravo!

David LOVES key lime pie.

He fell in love when I bought a SubLime pie last year...then he and I started taste-testing key lime pie when we went out to eat to see how they compared to SubLime. None did. Not even close. (And btw, it was a great ploy to get dessert...yum.)
Then I found a recipe at Real Simple magazine, and we started making our own, which we liked as a close second to SubLime.
For his birthday, he said, "Hey, let's get SubLime!" Guess what? They closed!
So we decided to try Costco's key lime pie...and it's good. But not as good as our homemade one. And not as good as SubLime.
Oh, SubLime, we miss you!
Side note: He had field day at school, that's why he's green. And this summer we are going to the Florida coast for a week, and he and I have decided we shall search out key lime pie while we are there. So stay tuned.

David celebrated his birthday at lunch at Granny and Opa's today.
I CAN NOT believe he is going to be FIFTEEN on Wednesday...where did the time go? I know we say that, but I mean it. WHERE? It seems like he just turned five. Now fifteen.
And he's bigger than me. But I'm still his momma.

No photos for Wednesday or Thursday...but I have three for Friday, so that works!

We love Fridays because...

..we can hang out with good friends...
...we can just hang out...

...and we can hang out with a super-terrific hubby who fixes our bike tires!
(thanks, babe)...and then ride ride ride through the neighborhood, breathing in the weekend...
aaahhh...
